Course Description

This one-day workshop provides practical approaches for designing fluorescent flow cytometry experiments. During the workshop, instructors work with participants in multiple examples of basic research and pre-clinical experiments involving flow cytometry. Topics include protocols, reagents, controls, sample handling, among others. The goals of the sample experiments include immunophenotyping, functional assays, cytokine detection, bead assays, and cell sorting. This workshop is tailored to researchers new to flow cytometry. At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to translate their research objectives into effective flow cytometry experimental plans.

Although no grades are given for courses, each participant will receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) based on the number of contact hours. One CEU is equal to ten contact hours. Upon completion of the course each participant will receive a certificate, showing completion of the workshop and 0.7 CEUs.
